WELCOME TO THE MAJESTIC INCOMATI RIVER

Please read the following:

The Incomati River, originating in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province, weaves through Eswatini and Mozambique, extending approximately 480 kilometers before reaching its mouth at Maputo Bay. Covering a drainage area of 47,000 square kilometers, the river supports essential agricultural, industrial, and environmental functions across the region. The Incomati River sustains a vibrant range of ecosystems, from its headwaters to the estuarine zones in Mozambique, which are vital for fish species, migratory birds, and other wildlife dependent on its waters. These unique habitats, particularly the lagoons and biodiversity-rich areas at the river’s mouth, are central to the livelihoods of local communities, which rely on fishing, agriculture, and access to clean water for their well-being .
